In Europe TMap® was introduced in 2003. The product has recently been refreshed, translated and localized into English and as a result we have seen a rising interest in the certification program, in line with the international adoption of the standard. Structured testing in combination with a business driven approach is cost effective and can often be linked to compliance with externally reinforced rules and regulations, such as SOX.

Independent exams
In 2007 EXIN has released a new certification based on the Test Management Approach, called TMap NEXT®. Based on the new book “TMap NEXT® for Result Driven Testing”, EXIN offers certification towards two certificates in Test Management. Students who will succeed in passing the following exams will obtain this certificate.

Currently the following TMap NEXT® exams are available:
Foundation Certificate in Test Management (TMap NEXT® Foundation) 
Advanced Certificate in Test Management (TMap NEXT® Advanced)

The Exams TMap NEXT® Foundation & TMap NEXT® Advanced are complementary. At the Foundation level the focus is on the testers’ daily practice. Development testing techniques, for instance, belong exclusively to the domain of the Foundation exam.

TMap NEXT® Advanced has an emphasis on the managerial aspects. The advanced exam will test the knowledge and comprehension of business driven test management (BDTM). At the advanced level we expect professionals to be able to deal with financial aspects, planning of resources, managing the master plan including risk management.
